Your PFO (Parent Faculty Organization) welcomes you to another exciting year at Lois Allen. Our PFO is a non profit organization within our school whose members are made up of parents/caregivers like you and the staff at Lois Allen. We invite you to join our school's organization. By joining the PFO you will be supporting school wide events such as:

Fall Carnival ~ Spring Carnival ~ Bingo Nights ~ Big Buck Store ~ Student of the Month ~ Bikes for Reading ~ Kindergarten Graduation ~ 6th grade Graduation ~ A-Honor Roll Dinner ~ Student Talent Show ~ Teacher Support ~ Classroom Support Materials ~ Field Trips ~ Volunteer luncheon ~ Yearbook ~ and many others

Each one of these programs assist Lois Allen's school community in continuing to be a school of excellence, as well as showing your student that you support the education process. Once you have paid your enrollment dues ($5 per family or $3 for an individual once a school year) your name will be proudly displayed on the PFO wall of fame. At the end of each school year all names are placed into a drawing for a family prize. So send in that membership as soon as possible!

Meetings are held on the second Tuesday of each month at 3pm in the library and special meetings are held prior to evening events. It is not mandatory that you attend meetings, but we would like to hear what you have to say on school issues or events. Remember to have a vote in the PFO decision making process you must be a paid member of our school's Parent Faculty Organization.

Currently we have a very active PFO whose members have gone above and beyond for our students and staff. During the 05/ 06 school year we had 208 families join our PFO, which is more then we've had in years. We look forward to even higher numbers of parent support this year.

Volunteerism is highly encouraged by our PFO, students and staff. We are always looking for parents/caregivers to help organize events, work a popcorn booth, color posters, make copies, etc. Remember that everyone has something they can offer to our school community and your are always needed and welcomed.
