Historical Background Essay |
Choose a historical topic of interest and historical question around which to frame your DBQ.
(This is a rough draft. Your question may be refined during our December 16 meeting.) |
December 16 |
Find six primary sources for your students to analyze in the DBQ (four sources for elementary). For each source, create scaffolding questions (LOTS, HOTS & MOTS) to guide student analysis. |
March 11 |
Write a 3-4 page, double-spaced essay that delves into the historical background of your DBQ topic. Use Chicago Style for citations and bibliography of at least three sources for your information.
(This essay will be reviewed by John, and he will send you feedback by April 13.) |
March 25 |
Compile three short segments of secondary sources that will provide historical insight to your DBQ. These will probably come from sources used to write your essay. Write a student assignment sheet and rubric for student assignment with the DBQ. |
Not due to us until final date |
