[5TH GRADE]

The fifth grade team chooses Students of the Month based on the CATS code of Courage, Attitude, Teamwork, Success. These students are recognized by the entire fifth grade with a certificate, a pin, and special lunch.

[6TH GRADE]

We pick four students of the month. We select a Courage, Attitude, Teamwork and Success student of the month based on the following criteria...

Courage: A student must go above and beyond the normal requirements to make a difference in and around the school environment.

Attitude: A student must demonstrate a positive attitude during any situation throughout the school day.

Teamwork: A student must provide other students with a friendly attitude. They muse always be willing to help others in any way possible.

Success: A student must succeed in the highest possible way with all of their classes. They must be prompt with their assignments and go the extra mile to always turn in quality work to their teachers.

[7TH & 8TH GRADES]

Student of the Month Criteria for 8th Grade Wildcats and 7th Grade Jaguars:

The criteria for determining Student of the Month for the Wildcats/Jaguars is based in the CATS Code. We, the core teachers, have formulated a set of guidelines/rules that encompass the values of this code. With input from the encore teachers, we meet to discuss which students, a boy and girl from each grade level, have demonstrated excellence in the classroom, the halls, lunchroom, etc. The following are our class rules, based upon the CATS Code:

Be Prompt: The student is in his/her seat, on time, ready to learn

Be Prepared: The student has all required implements to learn (pencil, completed work, binder/notebook, textbook or other learning-based materials

Be Involved: The student contributes to class discussion in a positive, constructive manner

Be Respectful: The student shows respect to his/her teacher, classmates, and self

The above mentioned rules show the team teachers that a student has demonstrated Courage, Attitude, Teamwork, and Success.
