 WCSD Seeks Applicants for
Oversight Panel for School Facilities
 
The Washoe County School District is accepting Letters of Interest from residents of Washoe County for its Oversight Panel for School Facilities. Duties of the Oversight Panel for School Facilities include, but are not limited to:
 
     1)  On or before July 1 of each even-numbered year, the panel shall submit to the
          Director of the Legislative Counsel Bureau written recommendations for financing the
          costs of new construction, design, maintenance, and repair of school facilities. These
          recommendations shall be transmitted to the next regular session of the Legislature.
 
      2)  Shall review and approve or disapprove a request by the WCSD Board of Trustees for
           the issuance of general obligation bonds.
 
Openings are currently available for the following membership qualifications:
 
     1)  Experience in the financing or estimation of the cost of construction projects
 
     2)  A representative of the gaming industry
 
     3)   A representative of the general public who has an interest in education
 
The term for each member is two years. Members are eligible for reappointment upon term expiration.
 
The Letter of Interest shall include the name and address of the interested applicant; which of the three membership qualifications the applicant is applying for; and a brief explanation of the experience that qualifies the applicant for the membership.
