Level 1 meets every Tuesday from 9:30 to 11:30am in the Parent Room at Roger Corbett School. Level 1 is a great place to start for adults that have never studied English or have minimal English language knowledge. It is also an ideal place to start for any student that wishes to start from the beginning. This class is taught by Roger Corbett's Parent Involvement Facilitator, Jackie Juárez. Jackie uses the Side By Side ESL curriculum in her classes to teach speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills. There is still room in this class for a few more students. El 1er nivel se reune cada martes de 9:30 a 11:30 de la mañana en el salón de padres en la escuela Roger Corbett. El 1er nivel es perfecto para aquellos adultos que nunca han estudiado inglés o para los que no saben mucho inglés. También es ideal para cualquier estudiante quien desea comenzar desde el principio. Level 2 meets every Wednesday and Thursday from 9:30 to 11:30am in the Parent Room at Roger Corbett School. Level 2 is an ongoing English class that has had a consistent group of parents for over two years. Students are currently working in the second book of the Side by Side series, which focuses on speaking, listening, reading, and writing, - but at a more advanced level. This class is also taught by Jackie Juárez, Roger Corbett School's Parent Involvement Facilitator and is currently full. However, students interested in joining this group may contact Jackie to schedule and English proficiency test. Students that pass the test will be placed on a waiting list for Level 2. Students that do not pass will be invited to join the Level 1 class that meets on Tuesday mornings at the school. The phone number to call is 333-5180.
El 2do nivel se reune cada miércoles y jueves de 9:30 a 11:30 de la mañana en el salón de padres en la escuela Roger Corbett. El 2do nivel es una clase de inglés progresiva que ha mantenido un grupo de padres consistentes por más de dos años. Los estudiantes están actualmente estudiando el segundo libro del programa Side by Side, que enfoca como hablar, entender, leer, y escribir el inglés - pero a un nivel más avanzado. Esta clase también es enseñada por Jackie Juárez y no tiene cupo en este momento. Sin embargo, los estudiantes que están interesados en ser parte de este grupo pueden llamar a Jackie para tomar un examen de inglés. Los estudiantes que aprueben el examen estarán puestos en una lista de espera para el 2do nivel.
