Counselors

The primary goal of the DRHS counseling program is to promote and enhance student learning. In meeting the national and state standards, the counseling program facilitates student development in the areas of: Academic Development, Career Development, and Personal/Social Development. The counseling program reflects the progression of student development throughout the 9th through 12th grade experience. Students have the opportunity to meet one-on-one with their counselors during the course of the school year. Each counselor serves as a facilitator and an adult advocate to a group of students.

The Damonte Ranch High School Counseling Department assigns students to counselors based on the student's last name. The assignments have changed slightly since last year due to the influx of new students. Here are the names of the Damonte Ranch counselors and the students with whom they will work:

Mrs. Tillet has been with The Washoe County School District for twenty years, she is married and has two beautiful children.  She has worked with all different age levels and found out she really clicks with the high school levels. Her goal as a counselor at Damonte Ranch is to develop a strong academic relationship with the students, be a good recourse for them and help each student achieve their highest potential.

I am an outdoor enthusiast who loves to rock climb, ski, mountain bike and camp.  I am an activist who loves working as a counselor so I can be an ally to students and work with them in becoming progressive and intellectual young people.

Debby Bryson is in her second year as a counselor at Damonte Ranch H.S. She has also worked at O'Brien Middle School in Stead and Lowry High School in Winnemucca, NV. She attended UNR and the University of Phoenix.  Mother to two incredibly wonderful kids, now in their twenties, she enjoys working with teenagers and especially likes the opportunity to work with both middle school and high school students. She enjoys traveling and sailing, and beaches and sunshine... and loves living near Lake Tahoe!

Mr. Farnum has been a counselor for 7 years and the best part about his job is helping students work through any challenges they may be having.  He is also the advisor for the Outdoor Adventure Club, coordinates the testing for students, and is currently training for next year's dodgeball tournament.
