Capital Projects & Facilities Management

WHO WE ARE:

Capital Projects - oversees the planning, design, construction and maintenance of all Washoe County School District buildings, with the goal of providing every student with the safest and best learning environments possible. With help afforded by the voter-approved 2002 Rollover Bond, our department undertakes the following:

Capital renewal - considering the age of many of our schools, we spend much of our time and resources fixing what's already in schools and classrooms, bringing them up to standards.
Revitalization - complete refurbishment of learning environments. This includes making our older buildings as safe and secure as possible.To see dramatic before-and-after shots of some of our recent work, click here.
Technology and infrastructure upgrades - transitioning our classrooms into up-to-date locales of learning, offering students and teachers the best technology possible given current funding.
New school construction - when necessary, Capital Projects plans for and creates new learning environments for our students in order to accommodate growth in Washoe County.

This list includes projects funded from the 2002 Rollover Bond, through the School Works Allocation Plan (approved by the Board of Trustees on August 09, 2011).
This schedule will be updated regularly, and will be noted accordingly.
