PLATO

Description:

In 2003, The Washoe County School District purchased unlimited licenses for 7-12 graders for the PLATO Pathways Instructional Management System.   PLATO Pathways is a computer based educational software program that offers over 4,500 hours of instruction in Math Science, Social Studies, Reading, Language Arts and Writing for instructional levels 1-12.  

PLATO Pathways was originally purchased to create high school and middle credit recovery courses that are aligned to state and district content standards.  Teachers are also using using PLATO Pathways for RTI, skill building, reinforcement, enrichment, and problem solving.  

Features: 

  • audio support on most courseware
  • "create your own course" or custom learning paths using local, state and national standards for individual students or classes
  • curriculum and course level assessments that determine skill level and generate a customized learning path 

 Credit Recovery and Support Courses:

WCSD teachers have created 38 high school credit recovery and support courses and 8 middle school courses that are aligned to state and district standards.   For a complete course listing click here.
