Deaf and Hard of Hearing

WCSD programs for students with hearing impairments provide direct and/or consultative services within a flexible continuum of environments. Students may utilize aural/oral or total communication and demonstrate mild to profound hearing losses. Additionally, students with cochlear implants are supported from initial cochlear implant activation and transition from aural/oral to total communication. Services may include audiological evaluation, equipment support such as FM's or word processors, interpreters, aides, and note takers. Our WCSD audiologist and/or teacher of hearing impaired students will assist special education teachers and IEP teams with appropriate curricula modification and adaptations.
