Child and Family Services
The Child and Family Services Department consists of five programs: Early Childhood Education, the five sites of the Family Resource Center, the Children in Transition program, The Nevada Registry, and the Nevada Pre-K Standards program. In all, our department employs over 80 people. Family Resource Center:
Children in Transition:
The Washoe County School District provides homeless children the opportunity to achieve the same high quality academic standards by eliminating barriers to their education. Homeless Liaisons with the Children in Transition program work closely with an advocate at every school in the district to identify over 2400 children yearly.
