Principal's Message

Welcome to Donner Springs Elementary School’s website. We are the home of the “Diamondbacks.” Our motto is “Catch the Dream and Imagine the Possibilities for all Children to attain Their Annual Yearly Potential. Our goal is lofty and includes working as a team with parents, in order to prepare students for a positive post secondary experience. We need your help and support in achieving our mission. A strong home/school/community partnership is essential. We offer many opportunities for families to join us in celebrating our students’ successes.

We are very proud of our on-going partnership with Sheehan, VanWoert, and Bigotti Architects. In addition, we welcome a new partnership with the Lahontan Audubon Society, who will provide students with a yearlong science program that introduces our students to hands-on, science activities in our nationally recognized, outdoor habitat area.

To further support student learning, Donner Springs offers two extended day opportunities. Our school is in its second year of reauthorization of the 21st Century Intervention and Enrichment program. As a service to working families, Reno Recreation offers students a before and after school, latchkey program.

Our parent faculty organization, PFO, meets monthly. Through their hard work and dedication, they continue to provide our students with school-wide recognitions, playground equipment, and much more.
