Welcome/Bienvenida Double Diamond Friends & Families:
Please accept my very sincere appreciation for the warm welcome I have received as the lucky person who has the honor of serving Double Diamond as its third principal. Because of your support, the terrific teaching staff and the prior leadership of Dr. Moller and Mrs. Cleveland, I am stepping into a well functioning elementary school. I hope to contribute to the school's successes now and in the coming years.
This year will mark my twenty-forth year in public education. The previous twenty-three were all served in the Sumner School District which is in the Seattle-Tacoma metropolitan corridor. I have served students as an intermediate teacher, an elementary principal and a middle school principal. I greatly enjoyed my years in Sumner, and am thrilled with the change to Double Diamond and the entire Washoe County School District.
Together with all schools in Washoe County, our mission is to provide each student the opportunity to achieve his or her potential through a superior education in a safe and challenging environment. Of course, we need your help and advice to do so. Please feel free to visit Double Diamond and become an active member of its educational team whether it is frequent contact with your child's teacher, active participation as a classroom helper or leadership in PTO, our entire student body benefits when parents are present. Additionally, I would enjoy hearing your ideas about your school and how we can continue to grow and best serve our students. To that end, feel free to call or stop by to chat whenever you have something on your mind. We are here to serve you and your children.
Again, thank you for this great opportunity to be the proud principal of Double Diamond Elementary School.
