Positive Behavior System (PBS) – Paws
Matrix Double Diamond Elementary School has implemented
a school-wide positive behavior support system, which seeks to promote and
maintain a positive and productive learning environment for all
students. This system includes direct
teaching and systematic review of behavioral expectations and frequent
rewards for demonstrations of appropriate behavior. The PAWS for Success matrix above describes
how each expectation looks in the various settings at school. Direct Teaching of Expectations: At the beginning of each year, the three
expectations (respectful, responsible and safe) are specifically taught
through a combination of grade level assemblies and classroom lessons. Each student receives a copy of the PAWS
Matrix, which is posted throughout the school. Expectations are specifically reviewed during
the first week of each month by a combination of morning announcements and
classroom lessons. WCSD Core Curriculum Standards Testing Information and Calendars |
