FOOTNOTES AND ENDNOTES IN REPORTS
Footnotes and Endnotes
- In
addition to parenthetical references, two other acceptable methods for
giving credit to sources of information are footnotes and endnotes.
Footnotes and endnotes should include the name of the author, the title of
the book or article, the publisher, the place and year of publication, and
the page numbers being referenced.
Footnotes
- Footnotes
are indicated in the body of a report by superior figures.
- Footnotes
are consecutively numbered.
- Footnotes
appear at the bottom of the page on
which the reference appears.
Endnotes
- Endnotes
are indicated in the body of a report by superior figures.
- Endnotes
are numbered consecutively.
- Endnotes
appear at the end of a report,
either on the last page or on a separate page.
