DEFINITION Technology is the process of thinking and acting that integrates people with technical methods (hardware, software and training) to improve the learning environment. It includes using tools necessary to solve problems in a systematic and creative way. Efficient usage of tools requires proper training, enrichment, networking, communication and maintenance. FUNCTION Within the definition of technology, The Technology Committee of Galena High School will: 1. Research and identify the technological needs of students, teachers and staff of Galena High School. 2. Evaluate technological proposals submitted to the committee, establish priorities within cost constraints, allocate existing resources, recommend and challenge options for funding, and initiate specific purchase decisions. 3. Define, evaluate, and prioritize a Technology Plan for Galena High School. 4. Articulate the goals, recommendations, and critical issues to faculty, administrative staff, and district offices. |
