Nevada's Northwest Regional Professional Development Program, serving Carson, Douglas, Lyon, Storey and Washoe County School Districts, supports high expectations and rigorous academic standards for all students, and provides professional development for all educators in improving student achievement through on-going trainings and the establishment of collegial learning communities.

In 2009, the Nevada legislature officially restructured Nevada's RPDPs. The Northwest Regional Professional Development happily welcomes the teachers and administrators from Carson, Douglas, and Lyon Counties, who joined us as a result of this restructure.

The Student Learning Facilitator (SLF) Program

Since 2003, the Northwest Regional Professional Development Program has sponsored the SLF Program to teachers as a professional development experience. Here is a copy of the SLF Program Flyer we share with interested teachers and administrators.

SLFs work for two years in assigned professional learning communities to study and implement a variety of research-based strategies. The goal of the SLF program is to improve student achievement by improving teachers' use of engagement strategies, formative and summative assessment, and differentiated instruction. Here is a visual overview of the SLF Program's Content and Expectations.

Below, find links and resources used by SLFs during the two years they spend with the program:

PLC & Observation Resources: To be used throughout the SLF Program
