Nevada's Northwest Regional Professional Development Program, serving Carson, Douglas, Lyon, Storey and Washoe County School Districts, supports high expectations and rigorous academic standards for all students, and provides professional development for all educators in improving student achievement through on-going trainings and the establishment of collegial learning communities.

In 2009, the Nevada legislature officially restructured Nevada's RPDPs. The Northwest Regional Professional Development happily welcomes the teachers and administrators from Carson, Douglas, and Lyon Counties, who joined us as a result of this restructure.

Inservice Classes Sponsored by the NWRPDP

Since 2001, the Northwest Regional Professional Development Program has sponsored a variety of inservice classes for teachers.

We are in the process of posting resources from all of these classes here on this page.

Below, find resources from the classes we have already posted.

Inservice Title: The Strategic Instruction Series (S.I.S.)

The S.I.S. course is a sixteen-hour class offered multiple times each school year. Student engagement strategies are explored during this class, as well as literacy and writing across the curriculum. This course is an option for new teachers taking the New Teacher Academy, but it is also attended by many veteran teachers who are looking for new, research-based strategies to try in their classrooms. Below are links to on-line resources that are used during the class:
