PTO meetings will be held the first Tuesday of every month at 5:30 in the Library.
Meetings are in the library and last approximately 1½ hours. PTO is open to anyone who would like to participate and make a difference at Lemmon Valley Elementary. Your input is always welcome and we encourage you to join us at our meetings! Please feel free to stop by and share your ideas and thoughts.

Minutes of the PTO Meeting for March 7th, 2012
Held at the Lemmon Valley Elementary School Library at 5:30 PM
8 Parents/Teachers were in attendance
Finances:
Treasurer Report: Please see attached financial report
Recaps of recent events: Math Carnival Night, had a good turn out and was lots of fun. Kids enjoyed the teacher’s pie in the face and most stayed to the end. The left over uncooked corndogs were donated to the 6th grade for their next movie night event. The extra drinks will be used for field day.

Current/Recent Event: Math Carnival Night - Teachers pie in the face was a big hit. Kids had a great time.
Upcoming Event: Reading week – Mrs. Leeder has provided information for us to include.
Box Tops: The second turn in for this school year totaled 11,600 box tops which is $1,160.00. An official box top banner was purchased that will be displayed at the school to remind everyone to keep collecting.
Playground Update: Results from Dolan Automotive contest LVES did not win but did make it to the second round. We are in for a grant from EL CORD. We have gotten the last signature on the proposal and can legally start to take the old playground down. This possibly could occur during spring break. Mrs. Anhold has another lead on a grant that is worth $10,000.
New Business:
Elections for 2012-2013 school year will be held at the April PTO meeting. Parents interested in holding a seat for the next school year will need to be present at the meeting in order to be nominated and elected. Information and the turning over of duties will take place at June PTO meeting. The new officers will officially take their new roles after the meeting. Notice of the elections will be sent home 2 weeks prior to the April meeting.
