![]() Mount Rose School was one of four schools built in Reno in the California Mission Style between 1910 and 1912. This style of building has the rooms grouped around three sides of a central courtyard framing a fountain (now gone) with a flagpole. McKinley Park and Orvis Ring Schools were built first followed by Mary S. Doten and Mount Rose, completed in 1911. These four schools were known collectively as the "Four Sisters" and the "Spanish Quartette." Mount Rose School is the last of the four still used as an elementary school. |
