Reed High School Physical Education

Our staff is dedicated to improving the practice and understanding of physical education for Reed High school students. The goal of the PE dept is to provide students with the information to make the right choices concerning a healthy lifestyle. The trend of childhood obesity indicates a very serious problem for society. Students, parents, and teachers need to work together to provide a program that supports the practice of healthy life choices. The impact of healthy food choices at home and in school can provide additional support for the fitness program provided at school. Obesity in children is almost 1 and 4 in Nevada as of 2007 research. The habits formed in school, good or bad, have a lasting affect on our lives. Health and physical education classes are often overlooked in importance. However, studies have shown that exercise can increase productivity and improve test scores, while giving a person the edge to “take life by the horns.”
