What are the rewards or benefits of being a teacher?
I like interacting with high school students. The days are almost always challenging but never boring. I would hope that my time with the students has a positive influence on their life.
What are the goals you wish to accomplish as a teacher?
Biology is such a great subject because what the students learn in
class can help them understand aspects of their life and world.
I hope my students walk out of class with an understanding about
how cells work, how the body repairs itself, how genetics can have a
positive or a negative influence on the quality of life. I hope they grasp an idea of what evolution is, and this might help them form
their own opinion about how life changes over time. I wish that my students can see the impact they have on the environment when they litter and also when they choose to pick up someone else's litter. |
