What are the rewards and benefits of being a teacher?
I am teaching subjects of great interest to me personally; government, politics, and American history. It is a privilege to present these subjects to high school students each day, hoping to encourage them in acknowledging their country's rich history and preparing and motivating them to be informed, participatory citizens necessary for effective government in our republic.
My greatest reward is watching individual students develop an interest in government and politics and begin to follow the news stories and government actions that affect their daily lives and futures.
What are the goals you wish to accomplish as a teacher?
My goals as a teacher are to develop young citizens interested in participating in their governments, prepare AP students to be successful on their national exam, and help students develop learning and life skills that will be useful in other education settings. |
