The PTA of SMS invites you to join us for our monthly
meetings, held the 3rd Tuesday of each month in the SMS
 library from  7:30am-8:30am.  Parents are welcome and 
encouraged to attend!  We need your help to make
a positive difference in the lives of our children!  Meeting
dates are as follows:

February 17, 2004
March 16, 2004
April 20, 2004
May 18, 2004

If you haven't already joined the PTA and would like
to support us, membership forms are in the office.  
Memberships are $5 for individuals, and $8 for families.
Thanks for supporting our school by joining the PTA.

Albertson's Cards:  Please use your card every time you
shop at Albertson's.  Our school PTA receives a donation
of 2 cents for every dollar spent.  If you don't have a card,
you may pick one up in the school office.

Dads On Patrol:  A new program we are initiating this 
year!  We are inviting dads to become involved in school
by dropping in at lunch time, before or after school, just to 
hang out on campus.  Fathers are a very important 
influence and what better way to show you care than by
being available to talk to the kids, play basketball, etc.
Anytime you can drop by, even if it's just for 30 minutes
or an hour, just sign in on the "Dad On Patrol" clipboard in the
office, and wear a "Volunteer Dad" badge provided for you.
Don't forget to sign out before you leave.  any time you
volunteer, great or small, is greatly appreciated!

Important Dates to Remember
October 9th and 21st are MINIMUM DAYS. School
is dismissed at 11:30am.  
Nevada Day, October 31st-NO SCHOOL
Hepatitis B shot series begins October 22nd.
Take Dad (or special person) to School Day is coming
up, more information to follow.
First Honor Roll Breakfast will be held in November,
date to follow.  Flyer will be mailed home.
