Washoe Country School District
Department of School Performance
To support the creation of an education system where all students achieve academic success, develop personal and civic responsibility, and achieve college and career readiness for the 21st century.
The function of the Department of School Performance (DSP) is to ensure that schools are focused on improving student results through quality site leadership and effective instruction. To maintain this focus, the office provides a differentiated system of administrative support to individual schools and the school system, monitors implementation of WCSD Board of Trustees policies and student progress, selects and evaluates principals, coordinates and assigns resources, and allocates staff to schools. DSP monitors school performance using a strategic data monitoring system driven by monthly data monitoring calendars to ensure focus on district and site student achievement targets. In collaboration with other offices, DSP provides information to parents and community members related to school issues and concerns.
