Credit-By-Examination (CBE) is recognized by the Washoe County School District as a program for students to earn high school credit by demonstrating proficiency on selected challenged courses.
No student may receive credit for a CBE subject which is equivalent or duplicate in nature to a course in which credit has been previously earned.
Grade results take approximately 3-4 weeks and will be posted directly to the student's transcript by our office.
The scholastic assessment of an applicant is the responsiblity of the counselor and the designated building administrator. However, it should be stressed that a student will not be allowed to challenge a course that is more elementary than another for which the student has already received credit.
A student may only apply for one (1) subject by examination during a single testing session.
A student may challenge a specific course only once during a school year and no more than twice during the student's high school career.
