Goals, SIP & Accreditation
Our SIP can be found on the WCSD website. Wooster High School's goals and school improvement is focused in the following three areas:
- Achieve AYP
- Reduce 9th grade credit deficiency rate
- Increase graduation rate
By the end of each school year, reduce the number of non-proficient 11th grade cohort students in ELA by 10% (Safe Harbor) with special attention to LEP, F/RL, Hispanic/Latino, and IEP subgroups.
- By the end of each school year, reduce the number of non-proficient 11th grade cohort students in Math by 10% (Safe Harbor) with special attention to LEP, F/RL, Hispanic/Latino, and IEP subgroups.
By the end of each school year, decrease the number of credit deficient first-year 9th grade students by 3% from the previous year's rate.
Continued implementation of ELT.
Continued implementation of the Freshman Mentor Program.
Schedule 9th grade core teams into master schedule.
Provide professional development time during PLCs for Freshman Core Team teachers.
Research, development, and implementation of RTI & PBS.
Assess all 9th graders in order to identify early on any students at risk of retention.
Continued implementation of both mandatory and voluntary after-school tutoring programs as an intervention for 9th grade students
Utilize Infinite Campus as a communication tool to regularly monitor classroom progress and update parents on student achievement.
Increase cohort graduation rate by 3% from the previous year's rate.
Continued implementation of ELT as a Tier 1 intervention for additional instructional time in ELA and Math proficiency remediation.
Continued implementation of voluntary after school tutoring.
Continue and expand implementation of 'stretch run' activities as interventions for 12th grade students who still need to pass one or more sections of the HSPE and/or need additional time for credit recovery, credit accrual, and senior project completion.
Implement credit recovery interventions for those 10th grade students who have not achieved a minimum of 5 credits by the beginning of their 2nd year in high school.
Develop a comprehensive college and career readiness plan for implementation with grades 9-12.

Wooster High School was re-accredited in April of 2010. During the 2009-2010 accreditation process we collected data, researched, and took steps to renew our goals and develop a school improvement plan for the next six years (2016).
