I was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico and attended Sandia High School before moving onto NMSU and then a term in the US Army. After I returned to Las Cruces, I became involved in the restaurant industry leading to a job as Beverage Manager for a chain in California. In 1989, I decide that for my health and my family I needed to change careers, so I became a Teacher in Albuquerque. I have taught Technology, Woodshop, Business, Computers, Math, Social Studies, and Study Skills. In addition, as the technology coordinator at Albuquerque High School I had the opportunity to work with teachers in every content area, to develop curriculum and integrated units. I am currently certified in ESL, Social Studies, Business and Administration.
I teach 4 Computer Literacy classes at Wooster and manage “The Company”.
Computer Literacy is a class that provides a basic level of expectations for students at Wooster. The students will spend time learning the keyboard and typing skills. They will then learn Microsoft Office Applications. We will follow the criteria for Microsoft certification in Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. Last we will start the Adobe course in Web Design using Dream Weaver
The Company is a Business class and will provide instruction in all facets of business operation. Students will be running the Colt Copy Corporation, which will provide printing and design services for the School. Students will also have the opportunity to add more services such as creating PowerPoint presentations and creating online coursework for the teachers.
